Why we decided to go Torrent-ial….

Lot’s of people have asked me why we decided to release our latest update via torrent and here I shall you exactly why.

Initially my aim for the update was to keep it within the “scene” so as to give something back. Unfortunately or Fortunately depending on which way you look at it our very own update is quite frankly in danger of wiping out the entire Community Downloads Project.

When a 41 Megabyte update is downloaded 1300 times in two weeks it’s going to put a strain on anyones resources. Now if it was 50 Gigabytes of bandwith a month we were using I wouldn’t be so worried but it’s over 100 Gigabytes alone not Including those that are still downloading the older versions.

So hopefully more of you will be joining the “Seeders” to help keep this update alive (without costing the owner of FMwiki a fortune)
