This film is a revival of the original Dragon Ball anime series, taking ideas from both the initial Dragon Ball quest and the later Red Ribbon plot. It premiered in Japan on March 2 at the Toei Anime Fair, with the film adaptation of Neighbourhood Story.
Goku is a monkey-tailed youngster who lives alone on Mount Paozu and has superhuman strength and martial arts skills. A female in a car (Bulma) almost strikes him one day after he catches a fish to eat. He mistook the automobile for a monster and threw it to the side, but was shot in response by Bulma.

He thinks she’s a demon, but she manages to persuade him that she’s human, despite the fact that she lacks a tail. He allows her into his house, remembering his late grandfather’s instruction to be courteous to females, and she goes straight for his lone souvenir. Goku shows Bulma an orange glowing ball that he believes is his grandfather when they enter the home.
